The Chow Kit Restaurant & Bar located in the heart of KL city center is an award-winning restaurant that serves up wonderful local delicacies such as Ikan Assam Pedas, Apam Balik, Satay, and many more.
What makes this place even more special is that you can enjoy your favourite local dishes paired with a refreshing cocktail. The Chow Kit x Mitzukami is a special collaboration with Asia’s best mixologist, Shawn Chong, to craft a selection of cocktails inspired by Malaysian childhood flavours.
The Mewah set (RM298) serves 3-4 pax and consists of 2 starters, 2 mains, 1 vegetable, 4 nasi ulam and 2 desserts. During our visit, we tasted the ikan assam pedas, sotong bakar, satay daging and bergedil sumbat.
The ikan assam pedas reminded us of Muar-style assam pedas where the sauce is a little sourer though this version has a slightly thicker sauce. Overall, the dish was very appetizing, and it did a good job of further opening our appetite for more.
While the ikan assam pedas was wonderful, it was the sotong bakar dish that stole the show. Slightly charred and grilled to perfection, the squid was succulent and flavourful. And of course, the beef satay and bergedil sumbat faired well in our books too.
